| Retail Store Manager Retail Store Manager Location: Port Orchard Position Open Date: 11/17/08 First Consideration Date: 11/28/08 or Open Until Filled Mission Goodwill provides quality, effective employment training and basic education to individuals experiencing significant barriers to economic opportunity. Position Description: Responsible for the daily operations, personnel management, financial reporting, rehabilitation functions, and safety regulations directly related to a store. Key Outcomes and Responsibilities · Assist customers and donors in a timely and courteous manner. · Ensure that quality customer service and good customer relations are provided. · Effectively manage store budget · Ensure that donated and used goods are processed appropriately from the time received through stocking on the sales floor. · Ensure that sales transactions are rung up and reported accurately, that all moneys are collected, counted, and deposited securely. · Hire, train, and direct the activities of store personnel to provide an efficient, congenial, cost effective work force. · Report operations, personnel, rehabilitation and safety statistics accurately and in a timely fashion. · Work effectively with Goodwill departments as needed. · Ensure that the store and surrounding premises are kept clean and free of safety hazard, and that safety procedures are understood and followed by all store employees. · Contract and work with outside vendors for services and/or supplies not provided by headquarters with in company policy. · Comply with all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. · Internal/external customer service skills are essential for all job functions. · Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications and Competencies: Education and Experience · High School diploma. Position Specific Competencies · Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting to maintain simple store records. · At least 3 years experience in retail field with at least 1 year of supervisory experience. Fundamental Competencies · Cultural Competence · Customer Service Motivation · Interpersonal Interaction · Verbal Communications · Integrity/Honesty · Written Communications · Continual Learning Essential Job Functions Must be able to: lift, and carry for short distances, up to 35-100 lbs. Must be able to stand on concrete floor for up to 8 hours/day. Be able to work in a dusty environment. Must have well-developed fine motor control and the ability to grasp, handle, finger and manipulate small and large items. Must have full range of body motion with the ability to reach above head, stoop, bend, and squat. Must be able to: perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms, without pain or loss of function. Able to travel across a wide variety of surfaces including, but not limited to, ramps, stairs, and uneven terrain. Able to sit or stand for moderately long periods of time, communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people, including those with limited English skills. Must be able to maintain reliable attendance. Supervise all store employees. Terms of Employment This is a full time exempt position.
